Bolivia: Exports of non-traditional products grows 42% between January and March 2022

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – Exports of non-traditional products from Bolivia increased 42%, both in value and volume, as of the first quarter of 2022, as reported by the Bolivian Institute of Foreign Trade (IBCE), with data from the National Institute of Statistics (INE).

The report noted that “exports of non-traditional products increased by 42%, both in value and volume, mainly driven by the good performance of exports of oilseed products and their derivatives as well as foreign sales of wood. and its manufactures.

The report details that, between January and March 2021, exports of non-traditional products reported revenues of US$545.2 million, while in the same period of 2022 they reached US$773.2 million.

From the group of non-traditional products, Bolivia exported soybeans, sunflowers (and derivatives), wood and its manufactures, jewelry, chestnuts, beef, bananas, sugar, ethyl alcohol, quinoa, milk, leather, coffee, beans, textile preparations, heart of palm, cocoa.

Likewise, in the first quarter of this year, sales of traditional products managed to register US$2.264 billion with a growth of 28% compared to January-March 2021, when they reached US$1.771m billion.

As of the first quarter of 2022, external sales reached US$3.037 billion, which translates into 31% more than what was registered in the same period of the previous administration, when US$2.316 billion were obtained.
