Good omens for the cruise season in Uruguay

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – Uruguayan tourism authorities have confirmed 143 arrivals in Montevideo and 40 in Punta del Este, thus shaping an optimal cruise season.

It results from the different meetings held by the Uruguayan delegation, headed by the Undersecretary of Tourism, Remo Monzeglio, with cruise industry representatives.

Following its participation in the Seatrade Cruise Global fair in Miami Beach, a large delegation from Uruguay attended this international event, establishing contact with some 500 exhibitors from more than one hundred countries to show its potential and attract cruise companies.

Monzeglio made a balance in local media, from where he pointed out that “it has been a very enriching experience and above all very encouraging. It has been surveyed that more than 80% of the people who consider taking a cruise want to do it again. In addition, statistics show that approximately 40% of those who take a cruise return to the places they visited.”
