Turkish Airlines signs agreement with Brazil’s second-largest carrier

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – Turkish Airlines, Turkey’s flagship carrier, signed a codeshare agreement with Brazil’s second-largest carrier, GOL Linhas Aéreas Inteligentes, to expand its destinations.

Through the agreement, passengers will be able to travel to Brazilian destinations from various airports in Istanbul, Asia, the Middle East, the Far East, and Africa, Turkish Airlines said in a statement.

Travelers will also benefit from connections to GOL’s entire network in Brazil, Asunción, Santiago, Montevideo, and Lima.

In addition, the two airlines signed a Frequent Flyer Program Agreement, which allows members of Turkish Airlines’ and GOL’s Brazilian loyalty programs to earn and redeem miles on flights operated by both airlines.

Turkish Airlines currently operates seven daily flights to São Paulo-Guarulhos International Airport.

Bilal Eksi, CEO of Turkish Airlines, said that one of the objectives of the agreements is to contribute to commercial ties between Brazil and Turkey.

Paulo Kakinoff, CEO of GOL, said that this represents a new opportunity for the world to discover the beauties of Brazil.
