Brazil’s trade balance shows a surplus of US$1.932 billion in the 3rd week of April

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – Brazil’s trade balance registered a trade surplus of US$1.932 billion in the third week of April 2022.

According to data released by the Foreign Trade Secretariat (Secex) of the Ministry of Economy on Monday evening (18), this figure was reached with exports of US$6.590 billion and imports of US$4.657 billion.

In April, the trade result accumulated to a surplus of US$5.482 billion. This year, the balance is positive at US$17.281 billion.

The daily average of exports registered a 19.5% increase in the first three weeks of April, with a 2.8% decrease in agriculture and livestock, a 38.6% increase in the processing industry, and 12.5% in extractive industry products.

On the other hand, Imports increased 25.3%, with a peak of 25.4% in agriculture and livestock, a decline of 8.6% in mining, and an increase of 28.4% in products of the processing industry, both on a daily average basis.
