Brazil inflation, as measured by the general price index IGP-10, rises to 2.48% in April

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – The index is higher than in March (1.18%). As a result, the IGP-10 has reached an inflation rate of 7.63% for the year and 15.65% over 12 months.

The General Price Index 10 (IGP-10), calculated by the Getúlio Vargas Foundation (FGV), registered an inflation rate of 2.48% in April this year, higher than the 1.18% of the previous month.

As a result, the IGP-10 accumulated inflation rates of 7.63% for the year and 15.65% over 12 months.

According to the FGV, last April, the index recorded an inflation rate of 1.58% for the month and accumulated a rate of 31.74% over 12 months.

The increase in the rate from March to April is due to the three sub-indices that make up the IGP-10. The wholesale price index (IPA) increased from 1.44% in March to 2.81% in April.

The Consumer Price Index (IPC), which measures the retail market, increased from 0.47% to 1.67% during the period. The national construction cost index (INCC) rose from 0.34% to 1.17%.
