Hilton opens in Brazil first hotel with lower rates in Latin America

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – Hilton inaugurates today its newest hotel in Brazil, in the city of Criciúma, Santa Catarina state. The project is the first Tru by Hilton hotel in Latin America and the North American chain’s 12th hotel in Brazil.

The hotel has 154 rooms and is located near Parque das Nações Cincinato Naspolini, just ten minutes from downtown Criciúma.

The Tru by Hilton brand is a bet by the chain to attract the young crowd, with rooms and common areas in bold colors, fast Wi-Fi throughout the hotel, and social areas like the Eat. & Sip Market, where snacks, light meals, and drinks can be purchased 24 hours a day.

With more than 210 hotels open and welcoming travelers, and more than 240 hotels in planning or under construction, the Tru by Hilton brand will continue its expansion in Brazil with the opening of Tru by Hilton Chapecó in 2023.

The hotel brand was announced in January 2016 at the Americas Lodging Investment Summit in Los Angeles. It was designed to compete against Comfort Inn and La Quinta.
