Chile: 40 houses affected by forest fires in Valparaíso

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – On March 31, Chilean firefighters reported through their verified Twitter account that there are, so far, 40 houses affected by a forest fire in Valparaiso.

They added that there are 200 firefighters mobilized in 47 units fighting the fire in the areas of Quilpué, Limache, Villa Alemana, Olmué, and Viña del Mar.

Sandro Bruzzone, regional director of Forest Fires of CONAF Valparaíso, warned that this forest fire is dangerous, and they are still on red alert.

So far, authorities report no deaths or injuries from the fires in this region.
