COMING TO SÃO PAULO

Copel Telecom, sold in 2020 to a fund owned by Nelson Tanure, acquired control of Nova Fibra internet company and thus began operating in the states of São Paulo and Mato Grosso, in addition to Paraná, where it is currently present.

This is the third acquisition of the conglomerate that currently includes Sercomtel and Horizons, in addition to Copel Telecom. The group won 5G licenses in auctions held by ANATEL in November 2021 in the states of São Paulo, Paraná and Amazonas.

MAY BECOME COMPLEX

The office of Federal Audit Court (TCU) Justice Vital do Rêgo identified a flaw in the methodology for calculating the power of Eletrobras hydroelectric plants, which may have underestimated the concession value.

Justice Vital do Rêgo requested a review of the company’s privatization process in December. The alleged mistake would increase the total amount to be paid by the new controllers to the government in the capitalization by several billion Reais.
