RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – The Paraguayan Ministry of Foreign Affairs, through the General Directorate of Consular Affairs and the Legalization Directorate, announced that Germany has revoked its objection to Paraguay’s accession to the Hague Convention of October 15, 1961, waiving the requirement of certification of foreign public documents (“Apostille Convention”).
This Convention entered into force between the Federal Republic of Germany and the Republic of Paraguay on January 6, 2022, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs statement.
Thus, “all documents of Paraguayan origin that bear the Hague Apostille will be accepted in German territory, as well as documents of German origin, which bear the corresponding Apostille, shall be accepted by national authorities within Paraguayan territory,” the Ministry’s statement reads.
