RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – Data are related to the week that goes from the 14th to the 20th of this month and was compiled by Abrasce (Brazilian Association of Shopping Centers)

At least 5,500 stores of shopping centers in the country were closed recently for lack of employees contaminated by Covid-19 or Influenza.

The data referred to the week between the 14th and 20th of this month compiled by Abrasce (Brazilian Association of Shopping Centers).

The sector represented by Abrasce comprises about 111 thousand stores – 95% of them “are working normally and did not need to reduce the working hours of the establishments”, said, by note, the association.

The Abrasce also says that the period of absence of workers was reduced from the recent ordinance of the Ministry of Health, which “allows the resumption of activity by the employee in a shorter period.

On Thursday (20), Glauco Humai, president of Abrasce, pointed out that “the more than 90% of the establishments functioning normally allows the operations to continue to guarantee the quality of the service”.
