Bolivia temporarily suspends vaccination card requirement after protests

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – The Bolivian Government decided on Wednesday, January 19, to suspend the presentation of the vaccination card against coronavirus and the negative PCR test for the duration of the sanitary emergency in the country after a series of protests.

Once the measure is over, the document will be requested again, although not in all cases, the Ministry of Health clarified.

The certificate will not be required in medical services, pharmacies, educational registrations, interprovincial transportation, markets, identification procedures and police services, access to justice, attention to financial entities, and recruitment for military and pre-military service, detailed in a press conference the head of the portfolio, Jeyzon Auza.

Despite this, some citizens called to mobilize to demand the total annulment of decree 4.641, which establishes the presentation of the health pass to access public places.
