RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – According to the Global Firepower Index update, Chile has the seventh most powerful army in Latin America.
Brazil takes first place in the region, at the 10th position of the general ranking.
The rest of the list was made up of Argentina (40th), Mexico (43rd), Colombia (44th), Venezuela (45th), Peru (50th), and Chile (53rd).
Below Chile were Ecuador, Cuba, Bolivia, Guatemala, Guatemala, Uruguay, Honduras, Paraguay, Dominican Republic, Nicaragua, El Salvador, and Panama, which finished 132 out of 150.
Globally, the United States came first, Russia second, China third, India fourth, and Japan fifth.
FIRST IN THE REGION IN FIGHTER AIRCRAFT
The same index provided data on the air power of each country, in terms of combat aircraft, a list in which Chile ranked 40th.
With that, Chile was ahead of the entire region: Venezuela (46th), Brazil (47th), Cuba (52nd), Argentina (61st), Colombia (66th), Peru (69th), Ecuador (83rd), Honduras (92nd), Mexico (93rd), and Bolivia (99th).
Below 100th place are the Dominican Republic (106th), El Salvador (107th), Guatemala (111th), Nicaragua (128th), Panama (131st), Paraguay (132nd), and Uruguay, in last place, 140th.
