Covid-19: Paraguay faces rejection of vaccination; some people don’t believe in vaccines

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – “We have enough vaccines for all Paraguayans, why should we wait for a third wave like in Europe or other parts of the world without being prepared for it?” a doctor asked.

An image currently circulating on social networks shows the epidemiological situation in Paraguay, where many people do not believe in vaccines and do not visit health posts to have them administered.

It is possible that many Paraguayans have realized that the resurgence of new Covid-19 infections in Europe affects vaccinated and non-vaccinated people alike. Scientific studies also show that some vaccinated people are infected with Covid-19 as seriously as the non-vaccinated.

According to a report by Telefuturo channel, healthcare workers had been waiting since 7 AM at a school where a vaccination center had been set up and no one was present to be vaccinated. The day before, only 20 people attended.
