Embratur launches campaign to attract American tourists to Brazil

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – Operating since May 2020 as an Autonomous Service, thanks to a law sanctioned by President Bolsonaro, Embratur (Brazilian International Tourism Promotion Agency) completes 55 years of foundation this Thursday (18).

The Agency, which by force of law had to focus on promoting domestic tourism until last July, is already operating again in the crucial international market, reinforcing the country’s positioning after the Covid-19 health crisis.

VISA-FREE ENTRY FOR TOURISTS FROM THE U.S.

Embratur’s campaign publicizes the release of visas for tourists coming from the USA. The exemption is also valid for those coming from Canada, Australia, and Japan.

The Brazilian International Tourism Promotion Agency (Embratur) started the promotional campaign “Brazil is visa-free. Come visit” to publicize the release of visas for tourists coming from the United States.

The goal is to attract people from the USA to Brazil during the high summer season and strengthen the resumption of international tourism in the country.

Consisting of a 30-second TV spot, videos for social media, and ads for digital and outdoor media, the campaign will run between November and December 2021.

“We will disseminate advertising pieces that bring the natural and cultural beauties that mark Brazil, with the information that there is no visa requirement for Americans to travel to our incredible destinations,” says the president of Embratur, Carlos Brito.

Images of the Foz do Iguaçu waterfalls, the beaches of the Northeast, and experiences that can be had in the country are shown, such as the richness of the gastronomy and the hospitality of the Brazilian people.

Considerable effort was also made in the case, for example, of the promotional work of national attractions developed in the Olympic Games in Japan and now in Expo Dubai, in the United Arab Emirates.

Embratur, together with the Ministry of Tourism, is also preparing the participation in six international events of the sector during the first half of 2022, including fairs of the sector in Germany, Colombia, Spain, Holland, Italy, and Portugal.

CELEBRATION

A ceremony allusive to Embratur’s anniversary is scheduled for next Thursday (25), in the agency’s auditorium in Brasília (DF). The celebration will have “Accessibility in Tourism” as its theme to highlight the importance of inclusion in the sector.

The event will feature a lecture by the Minister of Science, Technology, and Innovation, Marcos Pontes, entitled “It’s possible! How to make your dreams come true”.

Until November 25, the agency will make a series of posts on Instagram to mark the importance of the promotion work done internationally, bringing together authorities from the tourism trade and various personalities.

The issue of accessibility in tourism, which is part of several of Embratur’s strategies, will also have unique space during the week commemorating its 55th anniversary.
