Avianca will add three new air routes in Ecuador

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – According to the Ministry of Tourism, Ecuador will have three new air routes operated by the Colombian airline Avianca, two of which will be international and will depart from Guayaquil.

The first will be to New York, United States, starting in December, and the second to Lima, Peru, but the latter is scheduled to begin in January.

The third route will be domestic and will connect the city of Quito with Coca in the Amazon.

“We are seeing a new demand from passengers, and we intend to continue growing,” said Julian Laverde, Avianca’s vice president of Network Operations, according to a statement from the ministry.

Meanwhile, the Minister of Public Works, Marcelo Cabrera, expressed his wishes that the airline could include other destinations in its routes.
