Covid-19 : For the first time, all regions in Brazil’s Rio de Janeiro state register low risk of contamination

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – The state of Rio de Janeiro showed this week for the first time since the beginning of the pandemic, a scenario in which all regions show low risk of contamination by covid-19.

The information is from the Rio de Janeiro State Health Secretary, Alexandre Chieppe, who gave the information during the TV Globo’s “Bom dia Rio” news program.

In his speech to the media group, Chieppe informed that the scenario shows an improvement in the health picture in the state. “This shows the concentration of fall of indicators of Covid-19”, he said.

“The trend is to further consolidate this fall, with a [lower] pace of hospitalizations, severe cases, and deaths [from the disease] in the State of Rio de Janeiro, he summarized.

In the disease monitoring panel, made available by the state on the Internet, the rate of ICU occupancy by Covid-19 is 32% until October 14; and 18% in the wards.
