Brazil Soccer Confederation authorizes public attendance at “Brasileirão” matches

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – For the first time since the start of the Covid-19 pandemic, the Brazilian Soccer Confederation (CBF) on Tuesday (28) announced that stadiums will be allowed to host fans at Brazilian Championship (Brasileirão) matches.

Occupancy rates will comply with local health authorities’ official authorization.

The majority approved the return of the public to stadiums, with the support of 18 of the 20 Serie A clubs. Flamengo, the current two-time Brazilian champion, played a Brazil Cup match with an audience due to an injunction, which was later overturned by the Sports Court.
