Colombia is followed by South Africa and Peru. Ranked at the bottom are Belgium, Great Britain, France, the Netherlands, South Korea and Japan.

With respect to this study, the multinational beauty and personal care expert Natura referred to itself as one of the companies seeking to promote entrepreneurship in Colombia.

The business model with consultants, who total 130,000 in the country, has been a spearhead for national entrepreneurship.

With the outbreak of the pandemic, Natura managed to increase its daily turnover by 400% through online channels and sales surged 253%.

Natura’s commercial manager María Andrea Vargas said about the survey that “the greatest challenge for our business, where relationships are our strongest pillar, was to maintain them despite the online environment, and our consultants contributed to reactivate the economy by promoting digitization as an alternative to maintain their business despite the limitations of the pandemic.”

According to the Colombian Confederation of Chambers of Commerce, the challenge for these companies has been to overcome the entrepreneurial valley of death in the first 5 years of operations.

Government support and operational assistance (reducing the tax burden) have become the main challenges for the survival of these entrepreneurs.
