Covid-19: 504 new cases, 46 deaths registered in Chile in last 24 hours (September 3)

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – On Friday, September 3, the Ministry of Health (Minsal) released a new report on the progress and situation of Covid-19 in Chile.

The agency published the report with data collected during the last 24 hours, detailing that there are 504 new cases. Of these, 142 are asymptomatic, 321 have presented symptoms and 41 have not yet been notified.

Likewise, 46 people have died from the coronavirus, bringing the total number of deaths since the pandemic began in March last year to 37,041. In total, 1,640,192 people have been infected with covid-19 in Chile, of whom 1,597,118 have managed to recover from the illness.

Currently, 616 people remain hospitalized due to coronavirus. Of this number, 465 are on mechanical ventilation.

In the last 24 hours, according to the Covid-19 balance sheet in Chile delivered this Friday, 50,732 PCR tests have been carried out, giving a total of 19,743,013 performed in the country. The tests showed a 0.89% positivity rate throughout the country, and 1% in the Metropolitan region. Regarding antigen tests, 6,586 tests have been taken in the last 24 hours, giving a total of 697,268.

Finally, there are 500 beds available in medical facilities for new patients throughout Chile, as well as 9,314 places among the 109 health residences.
