Brazil: Agrogalaxy falls more than 20% on B3 debut day; Livetech slips slightly

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – Shares of Agrogalaxy, a retail platform engaged in the marketing of inputs for the agricultural sector, fell 20.87% at 11 AM to trade at R$10.88 on debut day on the B3.

The price per share for the company’s IPO was at the lower end of the indicative price range, ranging from R$13.75 to R$16.50. The operation included the issuance of 25,454,545 ordinary shares, resulting in an increase in share capital of R$349.9 million to R$838.7 million, divided into 170,824,989 ordinary shares.

Livetech da Bahia, known as WDC Networks, which also debuted on the stock market on Monday (26), fell 1.21% to R$22.92. The technology company, which focuses on the fiber-optic telecommunications and enterprise sectors, valued its shares at R$23.20, the bottom of the indicative range from R$23.20 to R$25.75.

Eletromídia (ELMD3) rose 1.73% to R$22.39 after announcing the acquisition of 74.65% of the shares of Otima Concessionária de Exploração de Mobiliário Urbano for R$416.7 million. Of the total amount, R$356.9 million will be paid in cash and R$59.8 million in installments.

In Ibovespa, the main index of B3, the reinsurance company IRB Brazil (IRBR3) recorded one of the highest increases, rising 3.81% to reach R$6. The company last week reported a net profit of R$7.5 million in May, after a loss of R$202.1 million a year earlier.

CSN (CSNA3) also led Ibovespa with a gain of 3.30%, trading at R$47.25.

At the other end of the index, Locaweb and Lojas Americanas recorded the biggest losses. Locaweb (LWSA3) fell 1.99% to R$27.08 and Lojas Americanas (AMER3) fell 2.11% to R$54.84.

Pharmaceutical stock Hypera Pharma (HYPE3) fell 0.47% to R$ 36.10. Last Friday (23rd), the company reported an 18.7% increase in net income for the second quarter of 2021 compared to the same period last year. The amount increased from R$396.4 million to R$470.6 million. For the cumulative first six months, the increase was 22.2% – from R$634.6 million to R$775.6 million.
