Rio de Janeiro Mayor says 70% of adult residents have been vaccinated

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – In a Twitter post on Wednesday, July 21, Mayor Eduardo Paes reported that 70% of adults in the city of Rio have now been vaccinated with at least the first Covid-19 vaccine dose.

According to the city Mayor, almost 30% have been immunized with the second dose.

By anticipating the schedule again, the city government pledged to vaccinate all adults by August 18.

“Some 70% of Rio’s adults have been vaccinated with the first dose and almost 30% with the second. Great news, but we can’t falter!!! Don’t hesitate when your turn comes, the only decision is which post to attend! Keep taking care of yourselves, wear a mask, and don’t forget your second dose!” Paes posted.
