Cultural meeting points CCBB and Correios in Rio de Janeiro offer online tours

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – In 16 months of the pandemic, it is no longer news that staying at home is not synonymous with boredom. On the contrary, cultural centers have modernized and offer a good experience for those who want to browse exhibitions without getting off the couch.

The CCBB and the Centro Cultural Correios have just made available two online tours of exhibitions that can also be visited in person without crowds.

The group exhibition on display at Centro Cultural Banco do Brasil, 1981/2021: Brazilian Contemporary Art in the Andrea e José Olympio Pereira Collection, has received 360-degree digital photography technology.

The virtual tour provides a complete tour of the exhibition, which brings together 119 works by 68 artists that are part of the collection of the Olympio Pereira couple, who have lived in São Paulo for 30 years. The curator is Raphael Fonseca.

At the Centro Cultural Correios, the solo exhibition “Vestígios” (Traces) by Tete Dias Leite also received an online version to call its own. Curated by Patricia Toscano, the artist presents a complex of works with large and medium format paintings created between 2019 and 2021 in her studio in Rio.

The work stands out for awakening the senses and mixing technical aspects of classical painting with contemporary themes through frames of light and shadow. To access the tour, click here.

The in-person version can be visited until July 4, Tuesday through Saturday, between 12 pm and 7 pm.
