RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – Chilean health authorities reported Thursday that more than 50% of the target population had received the two doses of the covid-19 vaccine, equivalent to more than 7.6 million people.
“The population must become aware of the need to be vaccinated,” said Health Minister Enrique Paris.
The country has one of the fastest and most successful vaccination processes in the world: it has the second-highest percentage of the population vaccinated with two doses, according to data from the University of Oxford, and has administered a dose to more than 62% of the population, most of them from the Chinese laboratory Sinovac.
