According to the survey, despite the negative fluctuation in disapproval compared to the preceding survey conducted in March, the percentage of Brazilians who disapprove of Bolsonaro’s handling of Covid-19 is still 18 percentage points above the lowest level of 33% recorded between late March and early April 2020, when Datafolha conducted the first survey on the subject.

The percentage of those who approve the president’s management of the pandemic stands at 21%, according to Datafolha, compared to 22% in the March survey. Those who consider it average total 27%, compared to 24% in the preceding survey.

Datafolha interviewed 2,071 people in person between Tuesday and Wednesday this week. The survey’s error margin is 2 percentage points plus or minus.

This week the newspaper published other sections of the Datafolha survey that showed ex-president Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva with a wide advantage over Bolsonaro in voting intentions for next year’s presidential elections and a drop in the current president’s overall approval rating.
