RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – São Paulo’s consumer protection PROCON Foundation and Ford Motor Company Brazil have signed an agreement in which the company commits to maintain consumer assistance in the country, with sales operations, services, technical assistance, spare parts and warranty for its customers.
The agreement, announced February 9th, covers the whole country and is effective throughout the useful life of vehicles sold by the brand. “The agreement reassures all who own a vehicle from the assembler or that will acquire one. It is worth noting that the agreement is valid for all of Brazil,” said PROCON-SP’s executive director Fernando Capez.
Ford announced in January the shutdown of its production operations in Brazil and the closure of its two plants: in Camaçari (BA) and Taubaté (SP). The company will maintain only the Development Center in Bahia; the Testing Ground in Tatuí (SP); and its regional headquarters in São Paulo.
