BNDES to Donate R$50 Million to Rebuild National Museum in Rio de Janeiro

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – Gustavo Henrique Montezano, president of BNDES (National Bank for Economic and Social Development), determined that the bank will donate R$50 million to rebuild the National Museum located in the Quinta da Boa Vista park in central in Rio de Janeiro.

The museum was destroyed by a fire two years ago. BNDES will be the third big sponsor, offering a sum equal to that already donated by Vale and Bradesco.

The architectural project for the reconstruction of the building is in its final phase of selection by UNESCO in Paris, France.
