The Argentine funeral home owner apologized to Maradona’s family and said in an interview with ‘Todo Noticias’ news website of the Clarín group that the employee was “immediately fired”.

The image of the employee giving the thumbs up, with the coffin open, while touching Maradona’s face went viral late Thursday morning, Novemer 26th, in several Twitter profiles and WhatsApp groups.

Maradona’s attorney and friend, Matias Morla, was bewildered by the case and said on social media that the employee is “a creep” and that he will not rest “until he answers for this abomination”.

“Due to the fact that Diego’s picture on his deathbed has gone viral, I will personally find out who was the creep who took this picture”, said the attorney. “Everyone responsible for this cowardice will have to pay.”
