Covid-19: Brazil Accumulates 6.16 Million Cases, 170,000 Deaths (November 25th)

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – The novel coronavirus pandemic has resulted in 6,166,606 infections since its onset. In the last 24 hours, 47,898 positive cases have been recorded. The figure is 54% higher than Tuesday’s increase, when 31,100 new records were added to the statistics.

The data are part of the Ministry of Health’s daily update, released on Wednesday night, November 25th. The body discloses a daily balance based on data provided by state Health Secretariats.

The number of deaths by Covid-19 now totals 170,769. In the past 24 hours, a total of 654 deaths have been recorded, just over Tuesday’s 630. There are also 2,177 deaths under investigation.

According to the Ministry’s balance, there are 482,990 patients under follow-up. Another 5,512,847 people have already recovered from the disease.

The states with the highest number of deaths caused by Covid-19 are São Paulo (41,601), Rio de Janeiro (22,256), Minas Gerais (9,858), Ceará (9,530), and Pernambuco (8,971). The states with the lowest number of deaths from the disease are Acre (721), Roraima (722), Amapá (799), Tocantins (1,153) and Rondônia (1,534).
