Covid-19: Brazil Records Six Million Cumulative Cases (November 20th)

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – Brazil has now recorded over six million Covid-19 cases. In the past 24 hours, 38,397 new cases of the disease were recorded, totaling 6,020,164.

The total number of deaths from the disease has reached 168,613 since the start of the pandemic. Between Thursday and Friday, health authorities reported 552 additional deaths. There are still 2,176 deaths under investigation.

The update was released by the Ministry of Health on Friday night, November 20th. The update is made based on information gathered by the state Health Secretariats regarding Covid-19 cases and deaths.

The states with the least deaths from the disease are Acre (711), Roraima (720), Amapá (787), Tocantins (1,147), and Rondônia (1,515).

According to the portfolio, there are 429,449 patients in follow-up, and 5,422,102 have already recovered from the disease.

States

The states with the highest number of Covid-19 deaths are São Paulo (41,179), Rio de Janeiro (21,938), Minas Gerais (9,688), Ceará (9,477), and Pernambuco (8,899).

The states with the fewest deaths from the disease are Acre (711), Roraima (720), Amapá (787), Tocantins (1,147), and Rondônia (1,515).
