Record Number of Cars on Rio de Janeiro Highways This Extended Holiday Weekend

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – ‘Sem Parar’, a Fleetcor Group company and leader in the automatic payments market in Brazil, shows a ten percent increase in the flow of vehicles traveling along Rio de Janeiro state highways over the three days of the holiday weekend beginning Friday, November 20th, Black Awareness Day.

The projection represents the largest flow of people over a weekend since the start of the Coronavirus pandemic.

The study refers to the automatic payment data of the Non-Stop system, when compared to the October 12th and November 2nd holiday weekends.

The company’s statistical data consider last holiday figures, estimating the number of vehicles traveling through the state’s highways.

Currently, Sem Parar has over 5.5 million active customers in its base, both in the B2C and B2B segments and is present across the Brazilian toll road network, in addition to offering automatic payment options in establishments such as parking lots, gas stations, drive-thru and car-wash businesses.
