President Jair Bolsonaro said on Saturday night, November 7th, that he is not sure whether he will seek reelection for the presidency in 2022.

“We seldom value a city councilor’s candidacy. I began as a city councilor, and 30 years later I became president of the Republic,” he said. The President also announced that he will stream live every day, at 7:00 PM, until Saturday, November 14th, as a kind of free electoral schedule.

“It is an appeal that I am making to you. Vote. The worst vote is the neutral vote, which is null, which is blank, which is a joke and it’s not voting for anyone. The vote is very important. And you can see the issues in the world, how politics is doing worldwide,” he argued. The Chief Executive also regretted that South America is being “painted red”. Then, Bolsonaro stated that he cannot “change the fate of Brazil” according to his beliefs.

“It doesn’t mean I’m a candidate for re-election. I don’t know if I will be a candidate for reelection, it’s still a long time to go before 2022”, declared the President. “We do need mayors in tune with what you think, with city councilors,” he emphasized.

It’s not the first time Bolsonaro has appealed to supporters to vote. On Thursday’s live stream, November 5th, the President also presented a list of candidates aligned with his political ideology. However, he explained that he decided not to get actively involved in the municipal election campaigns because he is busy taking care of Brazil.
