Cyclone Brings Strong Winds to Paraná State between Monday and Tuesday

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – The coastal area of Paraná is on alert for strong winds, according to the National Institute of Meteorology (INMET). The alert is valid for Monday and Tuesday, September 14th and 15th, covering the entire coastal area of southern Brazil. The winds affecting Paraná will be the remnants of a new cyclone that has formed in the ocean and reaches part of the coast of Rio Grande do Sul.

Meteorologist Reinaldo Kneib minimizes the situation and explains that the situation in Paraná is calm. “Despite being a cyclone with the same potential as in June, it is located offshore. It caused strong winds in Rio Grande do Sul at dawn, but here in Paraná we will experience some winds that are its remote effects, “he explained. The new bomb cyclone will also affect Santa Catarina.

Kneib alerts that smaller vessels should avoid going out to sea. “Between Monday and Tuesday, we will have coastal agitation and moderate to strong winds, above 50 km/h on the beaches. This is an alert for fishermen, who should, if possible, avoid going out to sea,” he warned.
