Rio de Janeiro Covid-19 Deaths Trend Downward for Fourth Consecutive Day

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – Data released on Sunday, September 6th by the State Health Secretariat show that the state of Rio de Janeiro has reached the mark of 16,568 cumulative coronavirus deaths.

There are 232,818 confirmed cases of the disease in the Rio de Janeiro territory since the start of the pandemic.

In the past 24 hours, the state of Rio de Janeiro recorded 42 deaths. The number of deaths on the rolling average stands at 77, which represents a decrease of 35 percent compared to two weeks ago.

This points to a downward trend in the number of deaths on the rolling average for the fourth consecutive day.

A total of 71 cases were recorded in the past 24 hours. In terms of the rolling two-week average, the number of cases stands at 1,359 and there is also a downward trend: 43 percent compared to 14 days ago.
