Covid-19 Could Exist Forever, Oxford Scientist Warns

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – John Bell, a renowned scientist and professor of medicine at Oxford University, told UK members of parliament that “covid-19 could stay here forever.”

At the Health and Welfare Committee session he also said it is very unlikely that there will be any prevention with a long-lasting impact. “We’ll need to have an ongoing vaccination round,” he said.

As an example, the Professor cited polio. “Look at how many problems they have had to eradicate polio, for instance; that eradication programme has been in place for 15 years and they are not there yet.”

On August 20th, the UK government announced early access to 90 million doses of the vaccine manufactured by BioNTech and Pfizer. This is one of the most awaited vaccines in the world and with an advanced trial phase, when compared to others.
