RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – One of the most visited tourist spots in Brazil and featured in the seven modern wonders of the world, Christ the Redeemer, atop Corcovado mountain in the South Zone of Rio de Janeiro, will be wearing a mask next Sunday night (May 3rd).
The initiative is the brainchild of the project “Todos Pela Saúde” (All for Health), created jointly by specialists with the main focus on fighting Covid-19 and its effects on the Brazilian population.
The use of protective masks has become mandatory in the city of Rio de Janeiro since April 23rd, and the City administration has promoted an awareness campaign by “masking” a number of statues and monuments in Rio de Janeiro.
