RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – With the continued drop in oil prices in the international market, Petrobras (PETR3; PETR4) announced to distributors on Tuesday, April 14th, that it will reduce the price of gasoline in the domestic market by eight percent, representing less R$0.0860, while diesel will drop by six percent, less R$0.0960, as of April 15th, sources said.
The marine diesel (bunker) will have a reduction of 6.2 percent, and the drop in fuel for thermal plants will be 6.1 percent (S500) and 6.3 percent (S10).
Oil prices dropped again on Tuesday, due to the negative outlook for global demand, with the WTI type, traded on the US market dropping 4.5 percent around noon, quoted at US$21.40 a barrel, and the Brent type, used as a parameter by Petrobras, dropping 2.2 percent at US$31.01 a barrel.
