China’s Hubei province boasts 60,323 recovered citizens. The city of Wuhan, its capital, was the source and epicenter of the coronavirus. In January, more than 26 million people were isolated in Hubei’s ten cities to halt the spread of the virus.

Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, director-general of the World Health Organization (WHO), said last Friday that the city of Wuhan is “hope for the world,” after not reporting new cases of the disease a day earlier.

In most countries, the number of recovered patients outnumber deaths by the Covid-19. In an interview, infectologist Hélio Bacha, of the Israelita Albert Einstein Hospital in São Paulo, said most patients only need to be isolated at home, as they present mild cases of the disease.

“Since 80 percent of the Covid-19 cases are benign, most people are recommended to remain isolated at home, as they do not need ventilation, IV medication or more complex care,” he explained.
