RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – According to information in Ricardo Noblat’s column, published in Veja on Friday, January 3rd, the sum deposited by Fabrício Queiroz, former advisor to the then state representative Flávio Bolsonaro, in the account of first lady Michelle Bolsonaro, was higher than previously announced.

According to the columnist, it was found that Queiroz deposited at least R$60,000 (US$15,000) into Michelle’s account. Perhaps a little more.

The bank secrecy of Bolsonaro’s wife was not broken, but rather that of Queiroz, Flávio Bolsonaro and 93 other individuals, most of them former employees of Flávio’s office, who kicked back part of their salaries.

When Queiroz’s deposit into Michelle’s account was first reported, Bolsonaro said the money totaled R$40,000 (US$10,000). According to him, it was money he had loaned to Queiroz and which the latter returned in ten installments.

The fact that Queiroz needed to borrow money remains unexplained, considering that in 2014 and 2015 he transferred R$5.8 million, in addition to the R$1.2 million transferred between January 2016 and January 2017, according to the first report.

Noblat states that this information slowly reached the highest-ranking offices of Guanabara Palace, Rio de Janeiro’s government headquarters.
