RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – Glassdoor, one of the largest recruitment websites in the world, announced last Wednesday, December 11th, its unprecedented award “The 50 Best Places to Work – Choice by Professionals”, which lists the best-appraised companies in Brazil.
In this first edition, the German company SAP, which operates in the corporate software sector, won the podium and was elected by Glassdoor as the best company to work for in Brazil.
Among the domestic companies that stood out in the ranking are: BV Bank, former Votorantim Bank (4th); Eurofarma, a pharmaceutical sector company (8th); Nubank, the largest fintech in the country (10th); and Globosat, a company part of the Globo Group (11th).
Award criteria
In order for a company to be eligible in the ranking, a minimum of one thousand employees in its general staff and the assessment of at least 30 Brazilian employees are required.
The Glassdoor platform allows employees to anonymously provide feedback on several company criteria, such as compensation and benefits, quality of life, culture and values, for instance. These assessments are used in the preparation of the ranking.
For each of these areas, employees grade from 1 (very unhappy) to 5 (very happy) and can still comment briefly, thereby enhancing their assessment.
The platform also allows employees to share their opinions on the pros and cons of the work environment in general and give advice to the CEO.
According to Glassdoor, the general ranking was set up from the averages of each company and the website assessed over a million companies. The website further emphasized that all numbers were voluntarily posted by employees of the respective companies.
