The data from the Special Survey ‘Government Evaluation by the Industrial Entrepreneur’ were submitted during a ceremony at the headquarters of the CNI in Brasília, where President Bolsonaro was awarded the Grand Collar of the Order of Industrial Merit.

According to the CNI, the award is “a recognition of the Brazilian industry to the federal government’s effort in advancing the guidelines that make Brazil more modern and competitive”.

In acknowledging the tribute, Bolsonaro stated that it is necessary to “seize this opportunity” in which Brazil is changing and recovering the confidence of local entrepreneurs and international investors.

“Brazilians have an enormous potential to create, innovate and are excellent entrepreneurs. They need to have freedom, not to have the state hindering their work,” said the president about the government’s interest in cutting red tape in the business environment in Brazil.

According to the CNI, among the important measures taken by the government this year are the Social Welfare reform, the signing of the free trade agreement between Mercosur and the European Union, the progress in concessions in the field of infrastructure and modernization of labor relations and the contribution with measures that promote the increase of legal security and reduce state intervention.

During the event, the president of CNI, Robson Braga de Andrade, introduced the numbers of the sector and the organization’s projects and actions, the Industry Social Service (SESI) and the National Service for Industrial Learning (SENAI) for the development of Brazilian industry.

According to Andrade, the structural reforms, particularly the Social Welfare and Tax reforms, will favor the return of macroeconomic stability and the increase of investments and production.

“Here we have industrial entrepreneurs who have made a great effort to develop Brazil and generate employment and who came here at the end of the year to greet you and to show you that the Brazilian industry has supported you and has been witnessing the advances that Brazil has made over these months, this year”.

“We are in the stage of celebrating and undoubtedly working together for 2020 to be an even better year”, said Andrade to Bolsonaro.

At the ceremony, two technical cooperation agreements were also signed between the Union and SESI and SENAI to provide enrolment in training courses and educational monitoring in vocational courses for youths enrolled in the Single Registry for Social Programs.

The ceremony included the presidents of the state federations and some 650 entrepreneurs. Deputies were also present and, alongside Bolsonaro, the Ministers of Economy, Paulo Guedes, Citizenship, Osmar Terra, the Government Secretariat, Luiz Eduardo Ramos, and the Institutional Security Office, Augusto Heleno.

The Order of Industrial Merit was founded in 1958 to reward personalities and institutions acknowledged by the Brazilian industry. The Grand Collar is intended only for Presidents of the Republic.
