RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – In Parque das Figueiras, located in Lagoa Rodrigo de Freitas, South Zone of the city, the ‘Babilônia Feira Hype’ (“Babylonian Hype Market”) will be held, from 2 PM to 10 PM on both days. Admission is free.
Encouraging the creative economy, the ‘Babilônia Feira Hype’ (BFH) features interesting fashion options combined with design and art. Gastronomy and music are also part of the event.
“Terms such as ‘co-work’, ‘startup’, ‘buy local’, which have become pillars of the creative economy, were already being applied by the BFH before the terms even existed, as the so-called creative economy was shaped in England in the year 2000. And when one considers this in fashion, the subject becomes even more exciting, because 23 years ago there was no such plurality of brands and no access for exclusive labels and small producers to exist.
Looking back and looking not only at BFH’s success but also at the players who started and are still starting with us, it is all the more rewarding”, says Robert Guimarães, the market’s director.
Among the gastronomic exhibitors are the Peruvian food of Panka; the novelties of Chef Bruna Monteiro from Marmitinhas Gourmet; the natural fermentation bread from Sova; the ice creams from Palazzo Gelatto; the delicious home-made burgers from Burgueiros Insanos, Os Filhos da Mãe and Prize Burguer; risotto from the Açafrão; Bom Galeto sandwiches; crepes from Le French; fish and chips from The Lords; craft beers from the Barrio, Nossa Artesanal and Mohave; coffee from La Furgonetta; artisanal and scented mattes from Mate do Vovô; and craft teas from Gan Tea.
Moreover, contemporary confectionery with panettones and special sweets prepared by Carolina Guzzo and Matheus Santana (winner of the GNT Channel’s “Que Seja Doce” program) and much, much more.
There will also be a children’s program, including recreational activities, a mini-park with baby toys, a soap bubble workshop, and other attractions.
