Flamengo/Marinha Defeat Fluminense 3 to 1, Become Rio Female Soccer Champion

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – Flamengo/Marinha won the title of the Women’s Rio de Janeiro Champions 2019. On Saturday, the team defeated Fluminense, turning 3-1 at the Luso-Brasileiro Stadium on Governador Island.

The goals of Flamengo/Marinha were scored by Ana Carla, Larissa, and Gaby; Revena unlocked the score for Fluminense. This was the fifth state title for the team from Gávea.

In the first game of the final, Flamengo/Marinha won 1-0, in Laranjeiras, thus, Fluminense needed to win by the same score to take the decision to penalties or by two goals of difference to win the title within regular time.

In the beginning of the second half, Flamengo/Marinha climbed and got her goal. At the tenth minute, Larissa suffered a penalty. Flamengo/Marinha’s top markswoman scored successfully and placed the favorite in the lead: 2 to 1. At the 27th minute, Larissa took the right field and was knocked down. Another penalty for the girls from Gávea. Flamengo/Marinha’s captain again scored to perfection and expanded the marker: 3-1.
