RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – According to the assembler, there are 10,852 units to be recalled (7,094 of Duster and 3,758 of Duster Oroch).
The company’s supplier determined that some airbags may not deploy or may deploy inefficiently in the event of a collision, which could “result in serious and/or fatal injuries to occupants” in extreme cases.
Renault says there are no records of accidents.
The non-sequential numbering of the chassis involved in Duster ranges from HJ474607 to J600336, from KJ746823 to J797677 and from LJ002318 to LJ995785. Duster Oroch chassis runs from HJ499387 to J589223, from KJ526365 to J799840 and from LJ002342 to LJ998632.
According to the company, the inspection or replacement is carried out in up to one hour. The service is free of charge and can be scheduled at a brand dealer.
For cars manufactured in 2014, Renault is also inviting customers who did not attend the airbag recall on January 26th, 2017.
