RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – The Special Action Group for the Repression of Organized Crime (GAECO) of Bahia triggered Operation Dirty Web on Thursday, October 31st to counter suspected pedophiles in the state.
So far 12 people have been arrested during the compliance with court orders in the cities of Salvador, Alagoinhas, Aratuípe, Baianópolis, Cruz das Almas, Feira de Santana, and Simões Filho.
Civil police officers seized computers, tablets, cell phones, documents and objects used in the criminal practice of exchanging, providing, transferring and marketing images and videos with scenes of explicit or pornographic sex involving children and adolescents.
The detention and seizure warrants were issued by the 1st Court of Criminal Offenses Against Children and Adolescents of the Capital, the 2nd Criminal Court of Alagoinhas, the Criminal Courts of Nazaré, Baianópolis and Cruz das Almas and the 1st Criminal Courts of Feira de Santana and Simões Filho.
