Eletrobras Launches Consensual Dismissal Plan for 1,681 Employees

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – Eletrobras announced yesterday, October 11th, the launching of a Consensual Dismissal Plan (PDC), with the goal of severing 1,681 employees of all companies in the group: CGTEE, CHESF, Eletronuclear, Eletronorte, Amazonas GT, Eletrosul, and Furnas, as well as the holding company itself. According to the company, the plan will represent savings of R$510 million (US$128 million) per year.

The PDC was approved by the Secretariat of Coordination and Governance of State Companies (SEST) and is part of the Business and Management Master Plan (PDNG) for the period from 2019 to 2023.

According to Eletrobras, employee adherence will occur until November 14th. Dismissals will be held in a single group on December 13th this year. Employees who have retired or who are retired under a Pension Plan until December 31st, 2019 may join the PDC, as may employees who work as clerks or at a basic level and assigned to disabled operating units or to automation.

This is the second PDC launched this year. It is valid for the 2019 fiscal year. Eletrobras will allow the exchange of health care for cash, through four package options for the employees to choose from. Eletrobras also announced the option of retraction from the PDC, after joining, up to 15 days before the dismissal.
