Mobile Market Could Suffer Its Biggest Decline Ever, Report Says

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – According to the market analyst, smartphone sales could shrink by 3.2 percent in 2019 and are a reflection of customer satisfaction with their smartphones, with a technology that is sufficiently advanced to discourage the purchase of new models.

“Consumers are keeping their phones longer, given the limited attraction of new technology. Unless devices offer significant new features, experiences, and efficiency, users do not necessarily want to update their phones,” said Ranjit Atwal, Gartner’s research manager.
