For the second week (from October 3rd to 6th), the forecast is for 80 percent hotel occupation, with Leme/Copacabana (83 percent) and Ipanema/Leblon (81 percent) as the most sought-after neighborhoods.

Also according to the Rio Hotel survey, the majority of tourists come from Brazilian states, such as São Paulo, Minas Gerais, and Bahia. In terms of foreigners, most of them come from North America, Argentina, Spain, Uruguay, and Chile.

Compared to the figures for the same period in 2018, when Rock in Rio was not held, the increase in the average occupancy of rooms has reached 37 percent.

Tourists may benefit from a Rio de Janeiro State Government stand, where the State Secretariat of Tourism and Culture, which will share the space, will provide activities.

One activity will invite the public to take photos in Chroma Key, choosing background images that represent tourist scenarios or cultural sites in the state of Rio de Janeiro.

The visitors will have their photos printed to take back with them as a souvenir and will also be able to publish them on social media, increasing the action’s exposure.

The same space will house an information point for access to the TurisRock website, a project of the Secretary of Tourism that aims to encourage the Rock in Rio 2019 audience to visit other tourist destinations in the state, besides the capital, through a discount of 30 percent valid in 172 hotels participating in the promotion.

One hundred and seventy-two hotels have already joined the campaign in 25 municipalities in the countryside outside Rio de Janeiro.
