The data were released yesterday, August 6th, by the Federation and by the Center of Industries of the State of São Paulo (FIESP and CIESP).

“This reduction was already expected for the month of July, as had been signaled by Sensor research. The progress in the agenda of reforms may provide impetus to economic growth, generating employment in the industrial sector,” said José Ricardo Roriz, second vice president of both FIESP and CIESP.

According to the Employment Level of São Paulo’s Processing Industry survey, the motor vehicles, trailers, and bodywork sector was the one that closed the most jobs, with 2,163 fewer vacancies, followed by the leather and footwear industries (-966) and metal products, with the exception of machines and equipment (-565).

Conversely, the clothing and accessories sector opened 499 vacancies, followed by pharmaceuticals (349) and pulp, paper, and paper products (305).
