RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – Almost two months after the murder of Pastor Anderson do Carmo de Souza, husband of Federal Deputy Flordelis dos Santos Souza (PSD-RJ), two children of her were indicted by the Civil Police on Wednesday, August 14th.
Flávio dos Santos Rodrigues, who is 38 years old and the son of Flordelis and her first husband, and Lucas Cezar dos Santos de Souza, 18 years old, a son adopted by her and the victim, are accused of murder.
The investigation was forwarded by the Niterói, São Gonçalo and Itaboraí (DHNSGI) Homicide Police Station to the Public Prosecutor’s Office of the State of Rio de Janeiro (MP-RJ), which will decide whether to indict the two, end the case or request that the investigation continue.
The two defendants were also remanded in custody. They have been in prison since June 17th in the Homicide Police Station itself.
According to Detective Bárbara Lomba, head of the specialized police station, the investigation was in two parts, and now the second phase of the investigation will begin, where the objective is to identify the participation of possible other participants in the crime.
