Città América Hosts Free Charitable Music and Food Event This Weekend

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – The Up Rock Festival was born with the goal of helping to end hunger and will be holding another edition in the first weekend of August.

Shopping Città América, in Barra da Tijuca, will host the event on August 2nd, 3rd, and 4th, Friday, Saturday and Sunday, respectively.

Aiming to revive the national rock scene, the event will host twelve rock concerts with songs spanning from the sixties to the beginning of the millennium, as well as originals.

Delicious foods and refreshing beverages will also be available, such as the barbecue festival,
food bikes, food trucks, wines, sparkling wines, and many craft beer options.

Children will be entitled to their own entertainment area, the Cidade da Criança (Children’s
City), an area with inflatable toys and lots of entertainment for children, families, and friends.

Admission to the Up Rock Festival is done through the donation of 2 kg of non-perishable foodstuffs or a small amount of R$10,00 (US$2,50) in food coupons.

The goods collected during the event will be distributed among charity institutions throughout the city.

Music will be provided by bands such as Fly West Band (Friday 2nd), which pays tribute to international bands such as The Cure and Pink Floyd; Belonave (Sunday 4th), which honors Brazilian bands such as Capital Inicial, Charlie Brown, O Rappa, and the musician and singer Mouhamed Harfouch (Saturday 3rd), who became famous as one of the finalists of the Popstar show from Rede Globo in 2018.
